About DREAM City

Surat has a strong economic basis with Diamond and Textile industry along with a booming industrial port area, and is growing very fast, resulting in a large demand for commercial and residential space. With the vision to cater with the booming demand of commercial and residential space as a supplement for swift development of Diamond Trading business in Surat, the Government of Gujarat formed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV); named DREAM City Limited with initial paid-up share capital of Rs. 100 cr. A dedicated Urban Development Authority named “Khajod Urban Development Authority” has been formed to act as the relevant authority.
DREAM City project has a geographical boundary of approximately 685 Hectare located south of Surat; abutting 90m wide outer ring road in proximity of Surat Airport. The Master Plan for this project was prepared by international consultant "Royal HaskoningDHV".
DREAM City Limited will act as a service provider to its stakeholders. Basic infrastructure will be developed and maintained by DREAM City. Implementation of the infrastructure project will take place in phase wise manner by year 2040. Infrastructure projects of approximately Rs. 400cr are being executed pertaining to phase1 and phase2. Major components in basic infrastructure includes Roads, Utility ducts, street light, water supply, sewage network, storm water drains etc.
The master plan has proposal of planned land parcels for various uses well knitted with detail network of sufficiently wide inter connected roads.The proposed land use will allow the developers / investors to develop variety of projects like Affordable Housing, Commercial and project based on PPP model (Metro, Recreation etc.)
About Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB)
SDB Diamond Bourse is the anchor tenant of the project with campus admeasuring approximately 14.38 hectare of land. SDB Diamond Bourse has commercial built-up area of 6.6 million square feet. SDB Diamond Bourse building will leave behind ‘Burj Khalifa’ and ‘Willis Tower’ to become the largest commercial building in the world by end of April-2022 when it becomes operational. It will contain more than 4200 offices which will give employment to nearly 1.5 lakh people. This building will be self sufficient with platinum rated Green Building certification. In addition to this, SDB Diamond Bourse is planning to have for a separate custom house within the building.
The project has made an effort to bring in turnover of over Rs. 2 lakh crores annually, which will benefit the city, state and nation. Recently, during the Dubai Expo, over ten diamond houses from across the world have expressed willingness to invest in upcoming SDB Diamond Bourse project.
