Surat Smart City Affordable Housing Project.

Project Summary

Summary of Smart Affordable Housing Projects & Its Impacts to EWS Citizens of Surat as well as Surat city by implementing of Affordable Housing under PMAY scheme.

  • Under the mission of Smart City area budget development, Surat Smart City Development Limited(SSCDL) have built & completed construction of 3958 affordable houses @ various different 09(nine) locations for economically weaker section families under "Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana" at a cost of Rupees 249.03 Crores equivalent to US $ 34.9 Million.
  • Economically Weaker Sections families have their own houses with all basic amenities and essential preliminary facilities with smart features in and nearby/surrounding vicinity of affordable housing campus. The site selection of Affordable Housing Campus are done in such a way that  families residing there, can get amenities like vegetable market, anganwadi cum primary school, hospitals, garden, community hall,public transportation system etc nearby / surrounding. Standard of living and social status of families are drastically improved after residing in affordable houses.
  • Continuous activities for construction of affordable houses under PMAY scheme, Surat cities preplanning development are  possible and will be going on  reducing of slum / densely residential area from 20% in past to 6%  in last 20(Twenty) years uptill now as well as reducing of infrastructure cost considerably for water, drainage and street light including balancing of environmental eco system surrounding of affordable housing campus.
